Hello! (1/22/25): For P-day, we didn't do much; we really had to clean our apartment, car, and call our families! We were able to go play some basketball with our Zone as well! After going shopping, we went to finally visit Lucas! He had been out of town and hadn't been able to let us know since his phone wasn't working; luckily, he was able to get a new phone with a working number which allows us to communicate with him! We were able to teach him about the Atonement and how the Atonement allows us to overcome spiritual and physical death! We read from Alma 42, and I truly love that scripture! It truly explains the importance of the fall of Adam and Eve and how the Atonement of Jesus Christ saves us from the Fall!
(1/23/25): After a long weekly planning session (we were able to organize our area, contact/drop green dots, and find some new people), we visited Rafael again and taught him more about the Atonement! We read Mosiah 3:5-19 together, and we emphasized the importance of having faith in the Lord and his Atonement; after some contacts fell through, we were able to visit Minerva and teach her the same lesson! She loves hearing and learning with us, but we aren't sure how willing she is to progress! We'll have to see where she goes! We ended the night by teaching English Class and teaching Carlos a little more about the Book of Mormon!
(1/24/25): After doing our studies, we had to get some gas, and we had to do a mentoring session for Elder Rushforth! After a couple lessons and contacts fell through [we weren't really having much success], we headed over to give a baptismal interview for one of the Sisters' friends; however, when we were heading over there, we got a call from them concerning their interview; apparently the Sisters' friend committed a VERY serious crime and told them 😭; so he had to leave the interview and I had to go over to them and minister to them; they were pretty distraught but I was able to help them out! We had to reach out to President Larson to get his help; he reached back out to me and got in contact with the Sisters! He made sure the Sisters were safe and basically let us know he was going to have to conduct the baptism interview! After all that, we ended the night by visiting Jose, our friend who attends church every Sunday but won't get baptized sadly and taught him the Atonement and read from Mosiah 3 and Alma 7! We testified of the Restoration and the Priesthood and boldly invited him to read the Book of Mormon! Hopefully we can get him to progress!
(1/25/24): Today was a very busy day! We made sure to invite every single one of our green and yellow dots to church! After finishing contacting our contacts, we had a good lesson with a referral named Christian! The English Elders found him while contacting one day and sent him over to us! He was pretty cool! Apparently, his aunt was baptized in his home country and he had met with the missionaries before! We taught him about the importance of the Atonement and read from the Book of Mormon! We also taught him how to pray and the importance of prayer! After, the ward was having an activity for ministering! It was combined with the Yerba Buena Ward, so I was able to talk to some of members I used to serve with in my first area! We ended the night by teaching Edmon the restoration and showed him the video of the First Vision! He's super prepared! We are going to continue teaching him!
(1/26/24): We had an OK Sunday! Alexandra and her family weren't able to make it, which was kinda a bummer! Edmon came through which was awesome! We had a couple other friends as well which was good! After doing some daily contact, we went and visited some people! We had a funny conversation with an old white dude! He was a lawyer and had a couple "Mormon" buddies! We had a good genuine conversation with him; we even got him to take a Book of Mormon! Right as we left, he said, "I cant believe you guys got me to take this sh*t". He was a super nice guy! We also taught an older Catholic lady named Anna about the Book of Mormon! She wasn't too interested but it was a good conversation! We ended the night by going to night church!
(1/27/24): We had Zone Council and District Council to start the day! After doing that, we daily contacted! After that, we had to run over to the mission office to grab our new Sim Card since our old one was getting turned off; the whole mission was getting new Sim cards, and we had forgotten ours at Zone Conference! We ended the day by finding and teaching some new friends and going to Noche de Hogar!
(1/28/24): We started the morning by teaching Alexandra! We taught her the first half of the Restoration and showed her the "Ask of God" video! We simply taught the importance of God, prophets, the establishment of Christ's church, and the Apostacy! While showing her the video, she started tearing up! She was really feeling the Spirit and could feel that it was true! She's going to keep progressing! After finishing daily contacting, we taught and went finding throughout the day! While finding, we talked to a really funny lady named Millie! She was a hardcore Christian and had profound testimony on Jesus Christ! Infront of her house were banners that said "la sangre de cristo tiene poder para salvarnos" which means the "Blood of Christ has the power of Christ to save us." We had such a long conversation haha but it was a good! We read from the Bible and the Book of Mormon! She wasn't interested in learning more, but she was super nice! After, we taught Rafael the first half of the Restoration and talked about the importance of a modern-day living prophet! After, we taught Carlos about the Atonement again and ended by finishing with Ward Correlation meeting and visiting a couple other people! Elder Copeland
